Job Description

About Us

Greenwich Psychology Group is a premier private psychology practice with offices in Greenwich, CT, and Manhattan, NY, serving high-functioning adults, families, children, executives, and professional organizations. With 30+ clinicians, we deliver evidence-based psychological services with clarity, discretion, and measurable impact.

Position Overview

We are seeking a PhD-level professional for a senior role at the intersection of clinical consultation, strategic insight, and practice performance—designed to attract industrial/organizational psychologists and corporate-trained PhDs (consulting, finance, healthcare, institutional environments). Deep psychotherapy specialization is not required.

Role Overview

The Director of Clinical Strategy & Consultations is the primary clinical consultation lead and a key driver of alignment and growth. This role owns consultation quality, therapist matching, intake systems, retention insight, and external representation, and reports directly to the founder.

Clinical Consultations

  • Conduct one-on-one initial consultations (virtual/in-person) with adults, families, children, and executives
  • Use structured scripts, frameworks, and proven consultation models to clarify concerns, normalize experiences, and explain how therapy works
  • Develop a precise understanding of client needs and context
  • Clearly explain why the assigned therapist is the right fit, including specialization, style, and approach
  • Set expectations ethically and confidently; discuss private-pay fees professionally
  • Assign clinicians decisively based on fit and outcomes

Consultations are structured and formula-driven; intensive training is provided. Improvisational therapy is not required.

Consultation Flow, Scheduling & Retention Insight

  • Guide the scheduling team to ensure efficient booking and follow-through
  • Analyze consultation-to-treatment patterns, early disengagement, and terminations to improve systems
  • Speak with discontinuing clients to understand experience and support reassignment or closure
  • Communicate with clinicians regarding assignment alignment and retention trends

Clinical Strategy & Internal Alignment

  • Build deep understanding of clinician strengths, styles, and best-fit populations
  • Provide data-informed feedback to support effectiveness and standards
  • Identify gaps in expertise, training needs, or coverage and recommend solutions
  • Serve as a strategic bridge between leadership and clinicians

External Representation & Outreach (in-person )

  • Represent the practice with corporations, law firms, schools, universities, and professional organizations
  • Participate in outreach, presentations, and relationship-building
  • Coordinate and prepare clinicians for external talks/workshops with consistent messaging
  • Translate external signal into strategic insight

Marketing executes; this role owns performance and insight.

Professional Expectations

  • Full-time availability during business hours; real-time Zoom presence
  • Strong analytical mindset; comfort with KPIs, trends, and performance indicators
  • Influence through clarity, persuasion, and judgment—not hierarchy
  • Fully engaged across consultations, analysis, communication, and outreach
  • Communication & Support: Reports to Founder; concise updates on priorities, progress, insights, and recommendations.

Qualifications

Required

  • Required PhD (I-O, Clinical, School, Social Work, corporate, Leadership Studies, or related)
  • Executive communication skills and ethical judgment
  • Experience in consulting, corporate strategy, finance, healthcare, or professional services
  • Client-facing roles requiring rapid rapport, and clarity
  • Comfort in a private-pay, fee-for-service environment
  • Systems-level, results-oriented thinking

Training, Ethics & Growth

  • Intensive onboarding with senior leadership
  • APA-aligned ethical standards

Salaried leadership role with merit-based bonus

Benefits

  • 401(k) and 401(k) matching
  • Pension Plan
  • Health insurance
  • Dental insurance
  • Vision insurance
  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
  • Health Savings Account (HSA)
  • Paid time off

How to Apply

Please submit:

  • CV / résumé
  • Cover note addressing:
  • Experience conducting high-level consultations that build trust quickly and lead to durable engagement through insight (not pressure)
  • Direct work with corporations, law firms, financial institutions, schools, or professional organizations, including representing services with credibility
  • Ability to engage executives and corporate stakeholders, speak their language, and position services for organizational impact
  • Experience with outreach and relationship-building for professional accounts, including identifying gaps and delivering measurable value
  • Use of structured, systems-based thinking (data, frameworks, outcomes) rather than improvisation
  • Approach to supporting clinicians using judgment, intuition, and metrics to drive alignment and performance
  • Why your background uniquely fits a role integrating clinical consultation, corporate outreach, and systems leadership

We prioritize candidates with demonstrated corporate/professional account experience and clear thinking about applying psychology in organizational and business contexts, beyond individual therapy.
