We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Custodian Assistant Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing custodial operations, ensuring that all cleaning and maintenance tasks are performed to the highest standards. This role requires strong leadership, effective communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Supervise and coordinate the custodial team to ensure all cleaning tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Keep buildings, parking lots, and parking garages in a clean and orderly condition, including performing heavy-duty cleaning, regular maintenance activities, and pressure washing as needed.
- Manage the removal of trash and debris from buildings, parking lots, and parking garages to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Document work as it is completed, maintaining accurate records of tasks performed and any issues encountered.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management to ensure clarity of expectations and address any concerns.
- Engage in building security and safety activities, including checking and locking doors and ensuring electrical appliances are safe.
- Train and mentor custodial staff, fostering a culture of pride in work and high standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities, including parking areas, to ensure cleanliness and adherence to safety protocols.
- Inform management about required repairs and maintenance activities.
- Maintain and ensure proper use of cleaning tools, equipment, and supplies, including pressure washing equipment.
**Qualifications:**
- Valid driver’s license is required.
- Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) through a successful background check.
- Proven experience as a janitor or in a related custodial role, with supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to lead a team and interact with management.
- Proactive and reactive mindset, capable of responding quickly to issues as they arise.
- Reliable transportation to commute to and from work.
**Preferred Skills:**
- Working knowledge of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and supplies.
- Experience in pressure washing and knowledge of safe practices associated with it.
- Experience in a leadership role within a custodial or facilities management context.
