Seeking a highly motivated Aerospace Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. You will play an important part in the design, development, and testing of Enduralock's satellite docking solution while also focusing on the R&D efforts of Enduralock’s deployable capture mechanism and end-effector system for In-Space Servicing, Assembly, and Manufacturing (ISAM) operations. The ideal candidate has a solid background in aerospace/mechanical engineering and possesses a strong understanding of engineering design principles. Job Requirements Bachelor's or Master’s degree in aerospace engineering with minimum 1 year of industry experience. Mechanical engineers with relevant experience will also be considered. Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software to create CAD models and detailed manufacturing drawings. Adept in FBD (free body diagrams), strength of materials calculations, and tolerance analysis. Understanding of various manufacturing processes and their impact on design, including machining, casting, forging, and additive manufacturing. Experience performing static and dynamic finite element analysis. Knowledge of satellite systems, subsystems, and components, including structural design principles, power systems, communication systems, and on-board instruments. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically on engineering projects. Effective communication and teamwork abilities, with the capacity to collaborate and convey complex engineering concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Must be able to work on U.S Government Contracts and projects subject to ITAR. Job Responsibilities Research and Development of Enduralock's docking mechanism, deployable capture mechanism, and automated fastener assembly system for ISAM missions. Provide conceptual and detailed designs to convey the design intent to management and production via renderings, 3D models and manufacturing drawings. Develop 3D models and perform tolerance stack-ups using GD&T methods to make production-ready prints of designs. Coordinate testing and verification activities to validate the functionality and performance of designed parts. Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure the efficient production and assembly, while considering cost, quality, and reliability of these designs. Contribute to project documentation, including technical reports, design reviews, and presentations, effectively communicating engineering concepts and recommendations. Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and project planning activities, providing technical insights, and contributing to the overall success of the aerospace engineering team. Contribute towards technical proposals for government contracts and develop work plan and milestone schedules for new projects.
